Bright Computing appoints industry veteran Clement Lau as Director for Asia Pacific

11 Nov 2014 San Jose - Dr. Clement Lau joins Bright Computing, a provider of management solutions for clusters and Clouds, as Director for the Asia Pacific region (APAC). Dr. Clement Lau has more than 18 years of experience helping companies expand their operations in Asia, and has held senior leadership positions at Cray, Platform Computing, N-Visio, and meZZme among others.

Dr. Clement Lau's expertise in enterprise technologies and technical computing will serve the company well as it continues to expand its operations in the Asia Pacific region. He will lead Bright Computing's efforts in business development, direct sales, and expanding its network of resellers and systems integrators.

Over the past several months, Bright Computing has expanded its product line, adding the ability to provision, manage and monitor Hadoop clusters and OpenStack private Clouds to its High Performance Computing (HPC) solution. This creates opportunities in new, rapidly growing markets that the company plans to take advantage of in the region.

"Bright Computing has a very good reputation", stated Dr. Clement Lau, Director of APAC at Bright Computing. "I am looking forward to expanding Bright's reach in the region, and will build upon Bright's success with Huawei, HPCTech, and PARATERA. The solid product, combined with a great development team, make this a tremendous opportunity for me. I look forward to helping Bright grow rapidly in APAC."

"With our continued focus on accelerating growth in the Asia Pacific region, Bright Computing is pleased to have an industry veteran with so much experience join us to lead the effort", stated Dr. Matthijs van Leeuwen, founder and CEO of Bright Computing. "The Asia Pacific market is full of opportunity for a proven product like Bright Cluster Manager, and I'm thrilled to have Clem lead the way as we grow our business in the region in the coming months."
