Adaptive Computing rocks the enterprise with new Moab HPC Suite - Enterprise Edition

15 Nov 2011 Seattle - Adaptive Computing, managers of supercomputing systems and experts in HPC workload management, have launched the new Moab HPC Suite - Enterprise Edition at Supercomputing '11. Enterprise Edition combines Moab's battle-tested HPC workload management products with implementation services and 24 x 7 support, creating a complete package to meet today's enterprise HPC needs. Using the patented Moab intelligence engine, the Enterprise Edition improves productivity and uptime while meeting the SLAs and business priorities for HPC systems and HPC Clouds. Commercial enterprises as well as enterprise-level public sector organisations will benefit from this single integrated solution.

Moab HPC Suite - Enterprise Edition is a new product offering designed to meet current and emerging enterprise HPC needs. "Modern enterprise HPC environments have high standards for uptime, responsiveness, and adherence to policies. Our new Enterprise Edition meets those needs and provides the business ROI that our customers need", commented Rob Clyde, CEO of Adaptive Computing. "It's costly and complex to manage heterogeneous systems. Today's clusters have mixed processors, GPGPUs, operating systems, and middleware. Managing all this complexity along with power and business priorities is our forte."

This new enterprise-ready offering brings together the key enterprise use cases and capabilities that have been battle-tested in previous Moab HPC product releases into one integrated solution. The key use cases and capabilities include: Productivity acceleration, Uptime automation, Auto-SLA enforcement, Grid- and Cloud-ready HPC management and Usage Reporting. Productivity acceleration gets more results faster at a lower cost with unmatched scalability. Moab achieves 90-99 percent utilization, with fast and simple job submissions. Uptime automation ensures that each workload completes successfully and reliably, avoiding failures and missed organizational objectives.

Auto-SLA enforcement schedules and adjusts workload to consistently meet service guarantees and business priorities so the right workloads are completed at the optimal times. Grid- and Cloud-ready HPC management extends the benefits of your traditional HPC environment to more efficiently manage workloads and better meet workload demands. Usage reporting allows IT to determine usage to monitor costs and implement showback or chargeback to an individual, project or department. These combined capabilities are unique in the HPC space and create an integrated solution that is unsurpassed in the market.

Key differentiators of the Moab HPC Suite - Enterprise Edition are the multi-dimensional intelligence engine, most scalable workload management architecture available, and it's been battle-tested in managing the largest IT environments in the world. Moab is a multi-dimensional intelligence engine that automates decisions and actions across workload requirements, heterogeneous resources, priorities, SLAs, and current and future time horizons to self-optimize the environment. It integrates with existing management tools to accomplish this without rip and replace or new additional agents.

"It's the most scalable workload management architecture available. Moab is Grid- and Cloud-ready, compatible with existing infrastructure, and extensible to manage your environment as it grows and evolves to petaflop and beyond", commented Michael Jackson president and co-founder of Adaptive Computing. Moab is battle-tested in managing Top500 and Fortune500 enterprise systems including the world's largest, most scale-intensive and complex HPC systems including about 40% of the top 10, top 25 and top 100 systems based on rankings from the TOP500.

In addition, Moab Cluster Suite will be renamed to Moab HPC Suite - Basic Edition. Moab HPC Suite will be a family of products beginning with Moab HPC Suite - Enterprise Edition and Moab HPC Suite - Basic Edition. The entire family is managed by the patented Moab multi-dimensional intelligence engine.
