Independently from the announcement of the Cloud computing strategy, the new web site of the Directorate-General (DG) CONNECT has now gone live. It has been reshaped to reflect the challenges of the Digital Agenda for Europe (DAE).
The site has been rationalised and structured in a way that you will find areas of your concern more easily. It is structured into thematic tabs and their sub-chapters, which do not necessarily coincide with specific units of the Directorate-General.
Those of you who used to look for a specific unit website will notice that the names of the topics on the new website do not exactly reflect the name of the unit you have worked with.
You will find most of the topics related to the unit "Software and Services, Cloud" under the tab "Telecoms & the Internet". At the bottom of the Cloud page you will find a link to the web page with the announcement and related documents under "Cloud".
For the moment, you can also access the Cloud chapter via the central photo carousel showing the week's highlights. This carousel will be refreshed regularly depending on current actions and priorities.
The topics are interrelated with other thematic areas of the DG and also with other services of the EU Institutions. These interrelations will be underlined by putting relevant links on the topic's page, but you can also explore other areas of interest.
"Research related topics" remain hosted on Cordis at http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/ict/ssai/home_en.html . There is also a tab on "Research & Innovation" on the new web site, but the topics there are meant to be more of a policy nature. For those of you who are interested in a specific research field, you can continue consulting Cordis.
