Univa appoints veteran Head of Sales

26 Oct 2011 Austin - Univa has appointed Rob Secontine to vice president Sales and Marketing.

Mr. Secontine brings over 25 years of executive sales management experience to his new position with Univa. Mr. Secontine will lead Univa's accelerating growth and develop the company's global sales and marketing strategies. Mr. Secontine has excelled in creating high performing customer-focused organisations for several technology companies that culminated with successful outcomes such as the IPO at Indigo (NASD INDG) - later acquired by Hewlett Packard - and Vi{Z}RT. Most recently, Mr. Secontine led sales and business development at Scali Inc. which was acquired by Platform Computing.

"I am delighted to have Rob join our team", stated Gary Tyreman, President and CEO of Univa Corporation. "Univa has experienced accelerated growth driven by the acceptance of Univa Grid Engine. Rob brings a proven track record and he has already played an instrumental role in our recent successes. Rob has the talent and energy to help to drive the company's growth."

"The opportunity we have at Univa is profound", stated Rob Secontine, VP Sales and Marketing at Univa. "We are at the nexus of providing Grid Engine users the functionality and performance their organisation requires in addition to bringing our unique application orchestration product to market that virtually every data centre will require. I am thrilled to join at such an exciting time."

Univa has signed several new contracts in its most recent quarter, topping off its third consecutive quarter of growth in customer deployments.

Univa Grid Engine is engineered, tested and fully supported by the Univa Grid Engine Team. Univa Grid Engine 8.0.1 has already been proven to perform in large, complex production environments as part of several validation projects. Univa has added more than 200 improvements to Grid Engine since January, adding important functionality as well as addressing critical defects.
