Eurocom Panther 5 has broken the 8 TB storage barrier

24 Sep 2014 Nepean - The Eurocom Panther 5 has broken the 8 TB storage barrier in a notebook with four Samsung Spinpoint M9T 2 TB storage drives. Eurocom has expanded the storage capacity and custom options of the Panther line of Mobile Supercomputer Workstations with the addition of the highest storage density hard disk drive for mobile products. The 8 TB of RAID 0/1/5/10 total storage can be accomplished with four 2 TB Samsung Spinpoint M9T Hard Drives.

Eurocom developed the Panther 5 to be a mobile powerhouse for simulation, ray trace rendering, mobile analytics, CAD, CAE, server operations, software development, GIS on the go and so much more; while being a long term, stable system. In recognition of this innovation the Eurocom Panther 5 was awarded the Intel Solutions Summit Form Factor Solution Innovation award for packing the performance capabilities of a data centre server into a portable form factor, complete with workstations tools such as keyboard and monitor.

Unprecedented is the combination of performance and capability offered by the Eurocom Panther 5 in the form of dual MXM 3.0b graphics, 32 GB DDR3-1600 memory, Intel Xeon and Core i7 desktop processors and now 8 TB storage.

The Eurocom Panther 5 is an enterprise class system for professionals creating, studying and manipulating sensitive data, because of this, security is essential. Eurocom equipped the Panther 5 with a Trusted Platform Module 1.2 (TPM), finger print reader and Kensington lock port to provide them with the utmost in secure computing to keep their information, intellectual property and livelihood safe and secure.

The Eurocom Panther 5 is a 12 lbs system that evolved from high-end notebook and workstation designs. In addition to all the standard notebook features, the Panther 5SE offers processing from 6 to 12 Intel Xeon Processor E5-2600 v2 or Intel Core i7-4000 series up to 4960X Extreme Edition due to a LGA 2011 socket and X79 Chipset.

The Eurocom Panther 5 is a supercomputer class laptop that is perfectly adept as a Professional Workstation, NVIDIA Quadro Mobile Workstation and a Mobile Server.

The Eurocom Panther 5 is fully upgradeable and custom built, allowing customers to choose exactly the processor, graphics, storage and memory they need to get the job done right and meet there specific computing requirements. Utilizing a heavy duty mechanical design the Panther 5 is built to last in the most demanding environments.

Samsung Spinpoint M9T 2 TB drive ships with 32 MB DRAM cache, low acoustics and power requirements, which offers high performance, energy efficient operation for longer battery life in the Panther 5 Mobile Workstation. The M9T combines the highest areal density in a single storage device allowing it to fit into a 9.5 mm chassis and the EUROCOM Panther 5.
