During the ISC Research Paper session Alison Kennedy was delighted to give the PRACE ISC Award 2016 to James Sokhum King on behalf of his team including, Thomas Gilray, Robert M. Kirby, and Matthew Might of the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, United States, for their paper entitled " Dynamic Sparse-Matrix Allocation on GPUs ".
The PRACE booth was opened by a welcome speech from Alison Kennedy, Managing Director of PRACE on June 20. During three days visitors were offered different short presentations related to the various activities of PRACE:

PRACE offers various training courses via the PRACE Advanced Training Centres (PATCs). PRACE training efforts have been addressing the critical need to educate the next generation of HPC scientists. The aim of the workshop chaired by Nia Alexandov on June 23 was to create an open dialogue with the HPC ecosystem stakeholders on addressing the challenges and tackling the skills gap in HPC and Computational Science by providing a platform to discuss number of current issues. PRACE aims to intensify online training with his own MOOCs or Massive Open Online Courses. The workshop was concluded with a panel discussion chaired by Ioannis Liabotis. Organised was the workshop by Nia Alexandrov, Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Ondrej Jakl, VSB, and Ioannis Liabotis, GRNET.
