CSRA to deliver high capacity connectivity to support education priorities in Alabama

4 May 2016 Falls Church - CSRA Inc., a provider of next-generation IT solutions and professional services to government organisations, announced that its operating subsidiary, CSC State and Local Solutions LLC, will continue to support the Alabama Supercomputer Authority (ASA) by providing high-capacity network and internet connections to 550 schools and school districts, community colleges, universities and libraries throughout the state. CSRA received a recompete contract from the ASA, for services valued at $96 million over a five-year period of performance.

"The use of technology in the classroom and the availability of online educational resources continues to grow", stated Paul Nedzbala, executive vice president, Health & Civil group at CSRA. "We have partnered with ASA since 1993 to provide supercomputing and network services to the academic community in Alabama. Enabling our youth to learn and excel is a mission we wholeheartedly support. We will continue to refresh our technology, processes and services to ensure the Alabama education community can operate at maximum capacity without interruption."

CSRA supports ASA's supercomputer centre in Huntsville, and enhances and maintains a state broadband network that transports information, including video, voice and data. CSRA also provides network connectivity to Alabama school systems, along with services such as delivering internet in bulk at low rates, web applications development, security, disaster recovery and hosting, help desk, technical support, consulting and network design.
