SOURCECORP BPS turns to Oracle Exadata Database Machine for improved performance and scalability of transactional content management solutions

27 Apr 2011 Redwood Shores - SOURCECORP Business Process Solutions (BPS), a division of SOURCECORP Incorporated, has chosen to move its on-line transaction processing (OLTP) application onto Oracle Exadata Database Machine X2-2.

With Oracle Exadata Database Machine, SOURCECORP BPS expects to:

  • Enable improved overall system performance;
  • Enhance system availability with built-in redundancy;
  • Expand its system, as needed, to support customer growth; and,
  • Streamline support for OLTP systems with one integrated database machine.

Enkitec, an information technology services firm specializing in Oracle, is handling strategy and implementation in the following key areas:

  • Working with SOURCECORP to complete its site planning and data centre evaluation;
  • Serving as key liaison between SOURCECORP's IT team and Oracle to ensure optimal solution configuration.

Headquartered in Dallas, SOURCECORP BPS offers transactional content management solutions for organisations in the financial services, health care, insurance, and public sector industries, amongst others.

Organisations outsource all or portions of their documentation and information work flow processes to SOURCECORP BPS to be more cost-effective and efficient. Its advanced work flow application known as FASTRIEVE is delivered via a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.

To address rapid customer growth, SOURCECORP BPS sought to upgrade its systems for enhanced performance, availability and scalability.

SOURCECORP BPS purchased a half-rack and quarter-rack of Oracle Exadata Database Machine X2-2 systems for its production and standby environments, respectively. They expect the systems to be on-line in June 2011.

Oracle Exadata Database Machine is the only integrated database machine that SOURCECORP BPS identified that provides extreme performance for both data warehousing and on-line transaction processing (OLTP) applications.

Oracle Active Data Guard will be used with the production and standby systems for fast incremental back-ups as well as for high availability and disaster protection against planned or unplanned outages at the production site.

Enkitec, an Oracle PartnerNetwork Platinum-level member, is assisting SOURCECORP BPS to migrate their current Oracle Database 10g system to Oracle Exadata.

"When we were considering upgrading our present system, we explored two options with Enkitec - building an Oracle RAC environment ourselves with parts from multiple vendors or choose an integrated solution like Exadata", stated Burke Autrey, senior vice president, IT, SOURCECORP BPS. "What attracted us to Oracle Exadata Database Machine was the integrated nature of the system, Enkitec's experience and positive results with Exadata, and the benefits of having a single vendor provide support for the entire solution."
