Groovenauts will start by releasing a shipping optimization package which will also use their machine learning technology. Users will be able to predict for values like sales, profits, or production output, and then use the D-Wave 2000Q quantum computer to calculate an efficient shipping route based on those results.
"The work Groovenauts is doing to help their customers see even greater value from their machine learning applications is commendable. Their creativity and approach to drawing quantum computing resources into their solutions reflects a practical approach to quantum application development", stated Jeremy Hilton, senior vice president, technology and applications at D-Wave. "We continue to see new uses for the D-Wave 2000Q system and look forward to the increasing customer value we expect when we bring our next generation platform to market."
This shipping optimization package represents the first business service enabled by a quantum computer. Groovenauts plans to release more optimization packages for staff scheduling, machinery deployment, and other use cases in the future.
