DATA4 announces opening of second data centre in Milan

27 Apr 2015 Paris - DATA4 has opened their second data centre in Milan, thereby expanding the Milan campus by an additional 2,200 m2 of net technical space and a further 4.2MW of IT power. The addition of this new generation data centre brings the total capacity on the campus to 4,500 m2 and 7.8MW.

The building has been delivered for a major global Cloud infrastructure provider whose extremely high standards of quality, security and connectivity made the DATA4 Milan campus the natural choice.

The facility was built using the latest evolution of the DATA4 design, a design which has been recognised by numerous blue-chip international companies as being best in class.

Two years after arriving in Milan, the inauguration of this second facility is testament to the quality of DATA4's data centre design and built expertise as well as their operational excellence. After its success in France and Luxembourg, DATA4 is now successfully developing in Italy.

DATA4 Group currently operates 13 data centres in France, Italy and Luxembourg with a total net technical area of 22,000 m2 and 30MW of IT load.

"We are delighted to be able to accelerate DATA4's European growth by expanding our Milan campus. We have succeeded in delivering this latest facility by meeting head-on the challenge of developing a building co-designed in partnership with our customer in a very short timeframe. This latest facility is a natural evolution of the strong commercial success we have experienced in Italy and which is driving the expansion of our Milan campus", stated Olivier Micheli, CEO.
