The investment in T-Platforms by the largest state-owned bank testifies to the high value attractiveness of the company's business and confirms its financial stability. In addition, the participation of a state-owned bank in funding of large HPC companies confirms the strategic importance of supercomputer technology development for the global competitiveness of the country while strengthening Russia's technology leadership position on a global scale.
Vnesheconombank's funds will be used to create new HPC technologies destined for export to international markets. In particular, funding of the development of a promising integrated liquid-cooling system solution will continue, as well as the development of the monitoring and management software system for Clustrx computer clusters. In addition, prospective studies are now being performed to develop the technological base for a new generation of computing systems.
T-Platforms is also planning the expansion of its specialized HPC services portfolio. This includes services to design and build scalable processing centres and storage systems, as well as a set of services in engineering simulation and parallel computing. In the future, this portfolio will widen in line with market demands and the company's plans to increase its expertise in implementing such services. T-Platforms is also planning to invest in developing its own design center for multilayer printed circuit boards and retooling its testing labs in Moscow and Taiwan.
Additionally, special attention will be paid to the creation and further development of T-Platforms' own European infrastructure to successfully compete with global software and hardware vendors in local markets. In particular, T-Platforms will invest in the infrastructure necessary to implement and service the company's solutions, as well as to strengthen its position in the European market through the development of co-operation with the leading supercomputer communities: PROSPECT, EOFS, HOPSA, etc.
"This investment enables the development of a critical element of the modern economy as supercomputing technology creates the necessary conditions for the transformation and competitiveness of many high-tech industries, including aerospace, shipbuilding, nuclear industry, nanotechnology, transport & power engineering, metallurgy, military industry, and others", stated Vsevolod Opanasenko, CEO of T-Platforms. "In addition, it contributes to the diversification of Russian exports to include the most advanced high-tech HPC products as well as consolidation of Russia's position among the global technological leaders."
Vsevolod Opanasenko continued: "The most important part of our strategy is the expansion and development of advanced supercomputing technologies that will shape the progress of the global HPC industry over the next three to five years. Support from Vnesheconombank will allow us to successfully achieve all our goals and take a leading position in the global supercomputing market."
