Innovium delivers production grade SONiC/SAI for TERALYNX based switch systems

4 Mar 2020 San Jose - Innovium Inc., a provider of networking switch solutions for Cloud and edge data centres, has delivered a broad range of innovative systems and production grade SONiC/SAI running on its TERALYNX switch silicon family. These 10-400G production TERALYNX switch systems have been designed by world's leading OEM and ODM partners and are being deployed by top Cloud data centre customers in live production networks with a range of network operating systems, including SONiC.

Innovium is one of the only providers offering robust PAM4 networking solutions with a consistent feature set for 1 to 12,8Tbps products today with architecture scaling to 51,2Tbps+. Innovium's TERALYNX family delivers low latency, advanced telemetry, rich tunneling and programmability to enable unmatched visibility while easily adapting to new network protocols. Innovium's TERALYNX 7 (2 - 12,8Tbps) and TERALYNX 5 (1 - 6,4Tbps) provide a comprehensive switch portfolio for ToR and upper network tiers of Cloud and edge data centres. The TERALYNX family supports FLASHLIGHT, Innovium's unique telemetry with the ability to pinpoint any network delays, drops, or congestion and correlate network events to the application level, all in hardware with zero impact to performance. Modern software for TERALYNX family, designed from the ground up, has been hardened to be production grade so customers are able to deploy these switches with high confidence.

Innovium's TERALYNX family supports both NRZ and PAM4 interfaces for 10GbE to 400GbE ports in a fully software and feature compatible manner, offering best-in-class on-chip buffers, powerful analytics, and industry-best performance per $ and performance per watt. Leading system partners are building a range of data centre switches that include 10/25/50/100G ToRs and highest density 100/200/400G switches for leaf, spine & DCI across data center, AI/ML and high-performance computing (HPC) applications.

"Our continued innovation, with over 75 patents, has enabled us to deliver a comprehensive data centre switch family from 1 - 12,8Tbps performance. We now have over 20 switch system designs with the world's leading ODM & OEM system partners, based on TERALYNX switch portfolio", stated Rajiv Khemani, CEO and Co-Founder of Innovium Inc. "Many of these systems are now being deployed in production networks by top data centre customers using hardened software, including SONiC."

Yousef Khalidi, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Azure Networking, Microsoft Corp. stated: "SONiC is a leading open-source network switch OS empowering customers with modern and efficient Cloud networking software. It has a thriving open community of ecosystem partners engaged and making excellent progress. We are pleased to have Innovium as part of the SONiC/SAI open community and to see it engaged with customers for SONiC/SAI deployments running on TERALYNX-powered switches."
