Cray appoints Fred Kohout as Chief Marketing Officer

29 Feb 2016 Seattle - Cray Inc. has appointed Fred Kohout to the position of chief marketing officer. Fred Kohout will be responsible for leading Cray's marketing efforts globally, and will oversee the development and execution of the company's strategic marketing programmes, business development initiatives and partnerships.

With more than 25 years of marketing experience, Fred Kohout has held executive-level marketing positions at Fortune 500 companies including EMC and Sun Microsystems Inc. In his most recent position as vice president at EMC, Fred Kohout was responsible for redesigning and implementing new business partner programmes driving more than $6 billion in revenue.

"Fred brings to Cray a proven track record of building strategic partnerships and increasing sales through a customer-centric view of the market", stated Peter Ungaro, president and CEO of Cray. "Fred's background at industry-leading technology companies is perfectly tailored for this position. His experience and insight will help us as we work to continue our growth as a company, and bring to our customers the promised convergence of the exciting worlds of supercomputing and Big Data."
