ZT Systems announces Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 based server solutions for precision-fit data centres

6 Mar 2012 Secaucus - ZT Systems, a provider of customized server hardware solutions, has launched a range of new server platforms featuring the powerful Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 product family. Joined with ZT's custom design, integration and delivery capabilities, these platforms form the basis for precision-fit solutions to the unique technical and business requirements of individual large data centres.

"More and more customers with scale-out workloads like cloud computing and web analytics are discovering the benefits of server platform customization", stated Casey Cerretani, ZT Systems Chief Technology Officer. "From board level design to custom enclosure options, our clients demand that every possible optimization has been made to ensure the best performance within their data centre design and cost parameters. Our experience with large deployments of the new Intel Xeon processor E5 product family has demonstrated that custom ZT servers featuring this new technology can cost-effectively maximize application performance and data centre efficiency."

ZT Systems has worked closely with hyperscale Cloud and supercomputer customers on early implementation of custom platforms featuring this new generation of processors, which deliver up to 80% more performance than previous-generation processors, plus increased I/O capacity and latency reduction of up to 30%. Customers can benefit from ZT's unique experience designing, building and deploying platforms featuring this technology into real-world data centre environments. Standard 1U and 2U server dual processor rackmount server platforms based on the Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 product family are available today, and serve as starting points for customization to meet specific customer needs.

"The new Intel Xeon processor E5 product family is designed to address the key data centre challenges with more performance, efficiency and innovative I/O technologies", stated CJ Bruno, VP, GM Intel Americas. "With a growing number of customers, ZT has the proven ability to combine the benefits of our new Xeon processors with extensive platform customization to produce solutions optimized for the specific requirements of large server deployments."

ZT solutions begin with close, confidential customer engagement to establish application requirements and data centre constraints. Server platforms are designed using industry-standard parts, combined where necessary with custom elements and innovative engineering approaches. To ensure high levels of consistent quality, ZT's controlled manufacturing process includes shop floor control, change management, BOM control and component level tracking for all systems. For optimal ease of deployment, servers can be pre-racked and cabled, and full racks can be shipped worldwide with an industry-leading 15-day delivery SLA. ZT's commitment to operational excellence is demonstrated by a strong track record of on-time delivery, and global service, support and RMA capabilities keep server fleets running dependably.
