WekaIO recognized as a coolest Cloud company by CRN

3 Feb 2020 Campbell - WekaIO, an innovation expert in high-performance, scalable file storage for data-intensive applications, has announced that CRN , a brand of The Channel Company, has named Weka as one of its 100 Coolest Cloud Companies of 2020. The companies that appear on this highly coveted annual list are widely considered as the industry's premier Cloud technology suppliers in five key categories namely: infrastructure, platforms and development, security, storage, and software.

The CRN editorial team selects the 100 Coolest Cloud Computing Companies according to their originality and innovation in product development, the quality of their services and partner programmes, and their success in helping their customers save money and maximize the impact of their Cloud computing technology.

In addition to honoring outstanding technology suppliers, the 100 Coolest Cloud Companies list also enables solution providers to identify the most advanced cloud technology players - aiding them in selecting the companies that can best support their cloud service needs.

“Over the past year Weka has taken significant strides to ensure that our channel partners have the resources at their disposal to not just deliver our technologies for traditional data centres, but also to offer complete solutions to their customers as they transition to the Cloud", stated Barbara Murphy, vice president of marketing at WekaIO. "We are absolutely thrilled to be added to this list by CRN as it further cements our position as a leader in cloud solutions. It gives a strong testimony that the continued effort we place on our channel partnerships and relationships is paying off."

Today, Weka is officially the fastest file system in the world, for both on-premises and cloud deployments, beating other industry players to gain first-place in the IO-500 Challenge rankings. Furthermore, the company has just enjoyed its most explosive growth year yet, with 2019 seeing continued year-over-year growth as well as the launch of a global partner channel programme, WekaIO Innovation Network (WIN), designed to support partners. WIN provides partners with access to training, technical expertise, and resources to help them deliver validated and trusted solutions that meet the performance demands of next-generation applications.

As a 100% channel-centric business, Weka continues to invest in a dedicated channel sales and marketing team to ensure that partners have access to the resources they need to be successful in an increasingly Cloud-centric market.

"Our business has been built on providing data center agility solutions to our customer base, whether in the public Cloud, on-premises, or with a hybrid Cloud infrastructure", stated Joe Rayne, CEO and Founder of NordStar Group, a WIN Accelerator partner. "The WekaFS file system has enabled customer success with an accelerated storage infrastructure for our research and genomics customer base and for ultimately solving big problems in AI and machine learning."

"The IT channel relies on Cloud services as the foundation for building modern, transformational solutions", stated Bob Skelley, CEO, The Channel Company. "CRN's annual list of 100 Coolest Cloud Companies seeks to honour the top Cloud providers, whose mission and actions support innovation in Cloud-based technologies. Our team congratulates these honorees, and thanks them for their commitment to leading positive change in Cloud technology."

The new 100 Coolest Cloud Companies list will be featured in the February 2020 issue of CRN and online .
