Hyperion Research releases Cloud Application Assessment Tool

19 Feb 2019 St. Paul - Hyperion Research announced that a Cloud Application Assessment Tool the market analyst firm designed, is available free of charge to the public. This tool is an interactive grading system to assess the characteristics of HPC applications to help understand whether they fit better on an on-premise HPC system or are they well suited for running in a public Cloud.

By using this tool, end users will be able to see which characteristics of their applications drive or restrict the ability to run them in Clouds, and what future improvements in public Clouds may make their application fit better in the Cloud. It also shows the characteristics that drive certain applications to stay on-premise.

As a part of this tool, a scorecard at the end of the survey summarizes the entire assessment, as well as displays the scores of each characteristic of the tested workload. The tool can be found at the Hyperion Research website under theSample Reportstab in the menu. Hyperion Research encourages end users, software developers, CSPs, and anyone else in the HPC community to visit the tool and evaluate their workloads.

Questions or comments on the tool should be directed to Alex Norton , research analyst.
