With this workshop e-IRG wants to evaluate the progress of the e-Infrastructure Commons: What has been reached? What has not been reached, and why not? What are the technical, financial, political, and cultural roadblocks? How can we learn from each other? Speakers will give their views on developments at the demand side, the role of the market in conjunction with national e-infrastructure providers, and funding mechanisms.
Invited speakers, amongst whom former Microsoft's Research Connections vice president Tony Hey, NCSA director Ed Seidel, ESFRI vice chair Giorgio Rossi and Barend Mons, the chair of the Commission's High Level Expert Group on the European Open Science Cloud will give their view on the international e-infrastructure landscape, trends and future directions.
The workshop will be held at the Amsterdam Science Park.
The registration for the workshop is now open. The programme and practical info can be found at http://e-irg.eu/e-irg-workshop-march-2016 .
