Mellanox announces launch of Mellanox Capital

3 Feb 2014 Sunnyvale - Mellanox Technologies Ltd. has formed Mellanox Capital, a global investment arm, to provide equity investments in leading technology start-ups and companies worldwide.

Mellanox Capital will make investments in start-ups and technology companies that focus on innovative approaches to storage, compute, virtualization, Cloud infrastructure, Big Data, enterprise application platforms, and embedded solutions. Portfolio companies will benefit from Mellanox's investment via access to a broad product portfolio from a recognized expert in data centre interconnect solutions, world-class technology and process expertise, business relationships, customer introductions and an expanded channel for their products and services, as well as financial support , strategic insights and market intelligence.

"As a key component of Mellanox's innovation strategy, equity investments will provide us with access to technologies, markets, applications and key innovations influencing the data centre as well as the high-performance interconnect market", stated Eyal Waldman, president and CEO of Mellanox Technologies. "Mellanox Capital will enhance our relationships with entrepreneurs, opening doors to new markets, customers, alliances, co-investors, and emerging technologies."

Mellanox Capital will be managed by Nimrod Gindi, managing director of Mellanox Capital, and directed by the Technology Committee of the Mellanox's board of directors. In performing due diligence and supporting portfolio companies, the Mellanox Capital team can leverage the myriad of technical, process, and industry expertise that currently exist within Mellanox's business units and research and development programmes.
