SGI and Cognilytics partner to bring advanced analytics to enterprise Big Data

6 Feb 2014 Milpitas - SGI, a trusted expert in high performance computing and Big Data, and Cognilytics, a global provider of Big Data and Advanced Analytics solutions and the winner of the SAP North America Partner Excellence Award 2014 for Platform Solutions, have signed a partnership to help enterprises monetize their data as a strategic asset. Combining SGI's breakthrough HPC technology for Big Data analytics, the recently announced plan to develop a SAP HANA in-memory computing appliance, and Cognilytics' expertise in implementing technologies such as Hadoop and SAP Platform and Analytics solutions including SAP HANA and Predictive Analysis, the partnership enables the enterprise to closely align analytics initiatives with current business models to fully capitalize on results and achieve business objectives.

"Cognilytics has extensive experience in providing advanced predictive solutions to a range of business needs across multiple industries", stated Jorge Titinger, president and CEO of SGI. "Coupling SGI's breakthrough compute and storage solutions with Cognilytics' application environment expertise gives lines of business a powerful advantage in leveraging Big Data to gain insight, reduce risk, and fuel economic growth."

Infrastructure solutions delivered through the new SGI and Cognilytics partnership include SGI InfiniteData Cluster and SGI UV. Optimized for performance with over twice the density of any enterprise-class HPC cluster solution, and savings of hundreds to thousands of man-hours through factory integration, InfiniteData Cluster enables business and government agencies to utilize Hadoop with faster, greater insight and at lower cost. For hidden data relationships or need for real-time analysis, SGI UV is the industry's most powerful shared memory platform. Providing up to 64TBs of cache coherent shared memory, UV enables knowledge discovery through advanced graph analytics and micro-second time to results. Coupling the SGI Infinite Data Cluster with Hadoop and SGI UV with SAP HANA, SGI and Cognilytics will be able to provide a turnkey solution in these rapidly growing environments.

"SGI's expertise in high performance computing highly complements Cognilytics' expertise in predictive modelling", stated Gary Gauba, Cognilytics chairman and CEO. "Delivering application integrated solutions for Big Data powered by SGI infrastructure increases our ability to help customers convert Big Data to a strategic asset."

Cognilytics provides unique expertise around leveraging advanced predictive analytics techniques, modelling and integrating in-memory database solutions across a variety of verticals including banking, insurance, manufacturing, retail, health care and consumer products. Examples of solutions delivered by Cognilytics include model execution and management for bank stress tests, sales and fraud models for insurance, experiential analytics for retailers, and the prediction of re-occurrence of chronic diseases after treatment protocols.
