Mellanox introduces CloudX Platform to enable companies to build the most efficient public, private and hybrid Clouds

18 Feb 2014 Sunnyvale - Mellanox Technologies Ltd. has launched CloudX, a reference architecture for building efficient Cloud platforms. CloudX is based on the Mellanox OpenCloud architecture which leverages off-the-shelf components of servers, storage, interconnect and software to form flexible and cost-effective public, private and hybrid Clouds.

Leveraging Mellanox's high speed interconnect solutions at 40 and 56Gb/s and with the ability to use open source-based software such as OpenStack, CloudX delivers unbounded Cloud performance at lower capital and operational cost. CloudX delivers bottleneck-free performance and is the ideal Cloud infrastructure to enable the development of next-generation media, business intelligence/analytics, e-commerce, CRM/HR, social media, and other software-as-a-service applications.

The CloudX platform delivers:

  • Off-the-shelf server, storage, interconnect and software components
  • OpenCloud architecture: based on open platforms and the ability to choose open source (Open Stack) or commercial software
  • Highest speed interconnect of 40/56Gb/s for fastest data transfer: InfiniBand and Ethernet
  • Application and virtual network acceleration
  • Solid State Drives (SSD) for fastest storage
  • User friendly access and management
  • Flexibility to install any software on an ultra-efficient Cloud platform
