According to Dr. Francine Berman, Chair of RDA/US, "This collaboration agreement with CENDI comes at a time when coordinated and community effort is critical to build the infrastructure needed for sharing research data. We look forward to working with CENDI to build this infrastructure and advance the data community."
Founded in 2013 through funding from the National Science Foundation, the European Commission and the Australian government, RDA is an interdisciplinary organization comprised of more than 2,600 members in 92 countries whose goal is to accelerate data-driven innovation through research data sharing and exchange.
CENDI is a volunteer-powered membership organization that has served the federal information community for more than 25 years. Its mission is to increase the impact of federally funded science and technology by improving the management and dissemination of data and information.
"Both organisations share a mission to advance data sharing and exchange. The CENDI/RDA relationship will enrich both communities as we face the dramatic changes in the way science is accomplished and communicated. We will have more opportunities for our membership and the entire international data sharing community to collaborate together in advancing data management innovation", stated Bonnie C. Carroll, Executive Director for CENDI.
