Boston to continue HPC Roadshow in South Africa at the CHPC Conference

2 Dec 2019 Johannesburg - Boston is participating in the 13th CHPC National Conference for the first time as exhibitors and workshop delivery partners. Boston is bringing the first public NVIDIA DLI Course to South Africa. As global delivery partners for the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute, Boston are offering attendees the chance to take a Deep Learning Fundamentals workshop for Computer Vision. This instructor-led hands-on workshop explores widely used open-source frameworks, and NVIDIA's latest GPU-accelerated deep learning platforms, to teach participants how to deploy their own neural networks.

Boston are also announcing the availability of remote-access testing at Boston Labs; with over GBP 2 million worth of technology from industry leading vendors, Boston Limited's world class labs facility offers unparalleled access to HPC technology and expertise. Interested parties should visit the Boston stand at the conference for more information.

Making its debut on the Boston stand is a new solution called The Boston Venom 2001-10TP featuring AMD EPYC 7002 Series (ROME) CPUs. This is a high-performance workstation for the masses, combining a sleek modern chassis design with the computing power to satisfy the demands of modern applications. Also joining us on the stand is the powerful hybrid Cloud appliance from Boston's Cloud partner vScaler. From HPC to Big Data, AI to Deep Learning, you can create a bespoke solution to maximise output for your workload. You can start your Cloud journey with vScaler Cloud powered by Intel Xeon Scalable Family CPUs and Intel SSDs.

Boston also have several talks and workshops throughout the CHPC National Conference including three sessions with Boston's Consultant Head of HPC, David Power. Throughout the week, attendees can join for a Vendor Crossfire, a talk on "Clouds & HPC - Can they work together?" and an HPC OpenStack workshop. These talks are available for everyone interested in learning more about the industry, leading Cloud appliance and how they can be beneficial to your business or workloads.

"It is my pleasure to be a leading partner and sponsor of the CHPC conference this year. Boston are committed to partnering with, and enhancing, the HPC community in South Africa from the grass roots. This commitment extends to the provision of training, via the Boston Training Academy at the CHPC conference, where 60 participants will come away with skills in OpenStack and Deep Learning at no extra cost to attendees along with the facilitation of access to our renowned Boston Labs facility", stated Chris Coetzee, Country Manager - South Africa at Boston Limited.

Dr. Happy Sithole, Director, CHPC, added: "I am thrilled that Boston are a key partner at our annual CHPC conference, their ongoing commitment to HPC in South Africa is making a real difference to our community and I look forward to a fruitful ongoing partnership."
