The first 45 minute session will focus on an analysis of I/O behaviour using the Allinea Performance Reports tool which simply and quickly presents valuable pointers for resolving software bottlenecks. The session draws upon the effective use of Allinea Forge for profiling and diagnosing performance issues.
Webinar presenter, Dr. Oliver Perks, is an Application Specialist at Allinea and brings extensive experience in computational science related roles across both research and production environments.
Dr. Perks commented: "Targeting I/O inefficiencies is one of the most powerful ways to achieve faster performance from applications, speeding up the rate of computational research. In this webinar, we shed some light on the complex factors at play affecting I/O efficiency such as POSIX, Lustre and file systems and present a more effective route to problem diagnosis and resolution. The webinar will help developers and users of HPC based applications to understand more about I/O performance and make the right choices in their own environment."
