LOT is one of the world's leading airlines using Cloud technology on a global level. The airline company awarded Bull's subsidiary AMG.net the contract for the integration and implementation of the project, utilizing Platform-as-a-Service and Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions from Amazon Web Services.
During the design and development phase for the new solution, LOT followed the rule of 'anywhere, any time' to guarantee unlimited access to its full range of offerings and useful information for passenger and travellers. A public Cloud infrastructure was the obvious answer, and the mobile site had to meet many different requirements: passengers needed easy access to information, with an excellent level of performance anywhere in the world; and services needed to be able to evolve in real time, with airline reservation applications subject to sharp and unpredictable peaks in workload.
"This solution delivers many benefits to our passengers", stated Krzysztof Jarosz, CIO at LOT. "At any moment and in any place, they can plan their travel by checking flight plans, reserving their ticket, checking in for their flight and finding out its status. And all of this quickly and easily, no matter how many users there may be on the system at any given time."
The project was carried out in close collaboration with AMG.net, Bull's Polish subsidiary that specializes in providing services and free-access solutions to corporate customers in telecoms, finance, public services and public sector.
The mobile version developed by AMG.net for LOT has just been nominated for the Mobile Trends Awards 2013 in the category "Company with the best mobile website".
