Nucleon Structure Using Lattice QCD Simulation with Physical Pion Mass on the SuperMUC supercomputer of LRZ
22 Apr 2016 Munich - On the PRACE website, Constantia Alexandrou, University of Cyprus explained scientific work on calculating the mass of the Pion particle they did through the PRACE programmme on the SuperMUC supercomputer in Munich. The Cyprus team calcucated the axial charge of the nucleon as a function of the mass of the pion. This is a well measured quantity and serves as a check of the theoretical approach. The value obtained at physical pion mass was computed using PRACE supercomputer resources and they are the first group to produce it. The value obtained agrees with the experimental value and gives confidence in the methodology.
