Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) published a video interview with Jesús Labarta, Director of the Computer Sciences Department at BSC, on why performance analysis is crucial to getting the most out of computers. In the interview, Labarta discusses the results of the POP project - the Performance Optimisation and Productivity Centre of Excellence in Computing Applications. According to Labarta, POP's performance analysis results in HPC performance improvements ranging from 10% to more than 10 times. Switzerland is expected to be the next country to join the European HPC effort EuroHPC on 20 October 2017. As we announced two days ago in Primeur Magazine, Bulgaria has joined the EuroHPC as 10th member. The signature has now been put on the declaration. The declaration was signed in Sofia, by Bulgarian Minister of Education and Science, Krasimir Valchev, in the presence of Commissioner Gabriel. Read further...
