HPC Cloud provider CPU 24/7 has signed a sponsor agreement with the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW). CPU 24/7 is now sponsor of four top-teams of students designing car technology entering an international contest "Formula Student" with it. The "Performance Optimisation and Productivity" (POP) centre of excellence in HPC applications provides HPC support as part of a European project. POP analysed the requests for HPC application support they got during the past 18 months. They note that Fortran is still the dominant language and computational chemistry still the most important HPC application, followed by Earth and atmospheric science, and CFD. Read further...
