Penguin Computing, provider of high performance computing, enterprise data centre and Cloud solutions, has nine OCP-based supercomputers in the TOP500 revealed at SC16. All nine systems were procured by the U.S. Department of Energy to support the National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) Advanced Simulation and Computing (ASC) mission of reliably managing the USA's nuclear stockpile, as well as other Laboratory computing programmes. Super Micro Computer Inc., a global expert in compute, storage, and networking technologies and green computing has unveiled its new BigTwin server architecture in booth 1717 at SC16 from November 14-17. The BigTwin is the fourth generation of Supermicro's breakthrough Twin architecture that provides massively improved performance-per-watt, per-dollar, and per-square-foot as well as hot-swap U.2 NVMe. The BigTwin is a 2U rackmount server available in either two or four node models. The HPC for Energy project is presenting a short video on the challenges that our society faces in energy production and consumption and how exascale supercomputing helps to address them. The first showing of the video will take place at the SC16 conference in Salt Lake City, USA, at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center booth #2511, 15 November 10:30 (local time).
