SC15 announced that Intel's Diane Bryant, senior vice president and general manager of Intel's Data Center Group, has been selected as the HPC Matters plenary speaker at the 27th annual SC15 conference on high performance computing (HPC), networking, storage and analysis. The SC conference organise "HPC Matters" to encourage members of the computational sciences community to share their thoughts, vision, and experiences with how high performance computers are used to improve the lives of people all over the world in more simple terms. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for three (3) full-time, fixed term positions as computational scientists with the Irish Centre for High End Computing (ICHEC) at the National University of Ireland, Galway. The Institute for Microelectronics at Technische Universität Wien is seeking a highly motivated computational science PhD student/research assistant to investigate high performance software approaches for accelerating computationally highly demanding numerical simulations in the area of semiconductor process simulation. In particular, the candidate’s previous experience in developing high performance code will be applied, for instance, to state-of-the-art three-dimensional electroplating transport simulations. The work environment consists of an international team comprised of colleagues from academia as well as industrial partners. The candidate is expected to be a team player, eager, proactive, and self-reliant. The candidate is further expected to enter TU Wien’s PhD program, present research findings at international conferences (for which funding is available) as well as to publish in international journals. The Swiss National Supercomputing Centre and Università della Svizzera italiana organized next to Lugano from July 20 through July 30, 2015 a summer school dedicated to HPC. The summer school was open to Master and Ph.D. students, academic staff and professionals. Read further...
