Vincent Hindriksen at Stream Computing info on the PEZY-SC processor. This is used in the supercomputer installed at RIKEN with an incredible 7 Glops/Watt. It is powered by the processor-boards at the right: two Xeons, 4 PEZY-SC 1.4 accelerators and 128 GB DRAM, which have a combined performance of about 6,2 Tflop/s. It has been designed for immersive cooling. PEZY started with a multi-core processor of 512 cores, the PEZY-1. At the Bright Computing blog Lee Carter summarizes the Bright Computing activities at ISC 2015 in Frankfurt. For instance Bright Computing announced two new customer wins. EURO/CFD, a company that provides industrial corporations with an option to outsource numerical studies, has chosen to deploy Bright as part of its pioneering new HPC infrastructure. GWDG, a shared computing and IT competence center for Georg August University and the Max Planck Society in Göttingen, has addressed the challenge of simultaneously operating multiple HPC clusters from a number of disparate, non-integrated cluster management platforms, by deploying Bright to overarch the entire HPC infrastructure, consolidating management of their four clusters into a single management platform and view.
