The objective of the job function is to provide effective advanced support to scientists from a broad range of scientific fields and possibly to researchers from industry. Google reveiled some details on the work they did to keep their networks fast enough. This adds to what Google already developed in distributed computing and data processing, from Google File System to MapReduce to Bigtable and to Borg. Google's current current generation networking infrastructure can deliver more than 1 Petabit/sec of total bisection bandwidth. Software defined networking is also a part of Google's networking infrastructure. Read further...
